Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Corroborate processes when Reddit moderation teams use the app and how that information is used.
Overview
Corroborate is a Reddit moderation quality-assurance tool created by Major Void. It helps moderators apply community-defined review criteria, record moderation decisions, and conduct independent review of those decisions.
Information Corroborate processes
When a moderator creates a Corroboration record, the app may store:
- Reddit post ID, title, and URL;
- the community's configured review name and review criteria;
- the pass/fail result for each review criterion;
- the moderator's Approve or Remove decision;
- the reviewing moderator's Reddit username;
- review timestamps;
- an optional private moderator note;
- the community's independent-review policy; and
- when applicable, the independent-review outcome, reviewer, timestamp, and optional note.
When a moderator chooses to inspect post context from the Review Log, Corroborate requests the current post information from Reddit. The post body shown for context is not stored as part of the Corroboration record.
How the information is used
Corroborate uses this information only to provide its moderation quality-assurance functions, including displaying prior reviews to authorized moderators, documenting moderation decisions, supporting independent review, and reversing a moderation action when an authorized moderator selects Overturn.
Who can access Review Log data
Corroborate's Review Log endpoints check Reddit moderator permissions before returning QA records. The app is designed so that Review Log data is available to authorized moderators of the applicable subreddit, not ordinary subreddit users.
Storage and third parties
Corroboration records are stored using Reddit Devvit Redis. Corroborate does not use an external database, external analytics service, advertising network, or AI/LLM service to process Review Log data.
Corroborate does not sell Reddit data and does not use Reddit data for advertising or model training.
Retention and deleted posts
Corroboration records are stored separately from the underlying Reddit post. As a result, the moderation QA record may remain available to the moderation team after the original post is removed or deleted. This supports a persistent moderation history.
The stored QA record does not include a separately archived copy of the post body. Availability of live post context after removal or deletion depends on Reddit and Devvit platform behavior.
Records may remain until removed through future app data-management functionality, platform behavior, or other action required by Reddit's developer policies. Major Void may change retention behavior when needed to comply with platform requirements or improve the service.
Moderator notes
Moderator notes are optional. Moderators should not place passwords, financial information, medical information, government identifiers, or other unnecessarily sensitive personal information in Corroborate notes.
Security
Corroborate uses Reddit authentication and moderator-permission checks to restrict access to moderation QA data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but Corroborate is designed to minimize the systems that receive or store its data.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Corroborate changes or as Reddit's platform requirements evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
